Chuck Owen & ReSurgence - 5-time Grammy nominee, Chuck Owen, unveils his latest musical project with his All-Star jazz sextet, ReSurgence! Joining ReSurgence for this special mini-tour of central Florida is the eclectic & luminescent vocalist, Kate McGarry. With three GRAMMY nominations, including one for her 2021 album, “What to Wear in the Dark”, Kate’s appearance with is sure to make this a very special and intimate musical evening.
Recognized internationally for his unique compositional voice, Chuck’s thoughtful, creative, evocative, and intensely personal compositions are steeped in the jazz tradition but draw liberally and often playfully from a diverse array of additional influences that include contemporary classical, American folk/roots music, Latin, funk, and more! “creative, poetic, . . wildly personal” (Buffalo News), and ”. . an impossibly winsome combination of slow burn and spontaneous combustion” (Medium.com).
ReSurgence (as the name implies) is culled from his acclaimed 19-piece Jazz Surge family (their 2021 release “Within Us” being cited by Jazziz magazine as one the year’s best). The incredibly accomplished personnel includes:

The ensemble first debuted in the fall of 2019 with concerts in Central FL and a featured performance on JEN’s (Jazz Educators Network) International Conference (virtual performance).
